Wedding Decorations are an important aspect to the feel of your wedding – they set the style of the room and should reflect your own likes and tastes – but when starting out what decorations should you chose, indeed what options are available? This article is a little bit of Wedding DJ advice – Wedding Decorations to give you some guidance on what is available and to possibly give you ideas that you never even knew existed.

Wedding Decorations are a very personal choice and getting it right will make your wedding stand out from any others that you or your guests have been to. Wedding Decorations give you the chance to put your own ‘stamp’ on your wedding – your unique twist.

Your chosen venue may well be supplying some of the wedding decorations that are available in your ‘package’ – some offer a choice, others are not so accommodating – and your wedding is just another ‘McWedding’ to them – check to see what they are offering and what they can offer to make your wedding just a little bit more special – rather than it being an option from the standard menu board.

You can always add to the wedding decorations your venue is supplying, and of course if you are going down the DIY route and hiring your local hall, a marquee or function room the world really is your oyster – limited only by your budget (you do have a budget don’t you?).

Wedding DJ Advice – Bridal Makeup

Now I am the first to admit that I am not an expert on bridal makeup, I could not tell you what skin type you have, or recommend the best foundation or lippy, but I do get to meet and talk to hundreds of brides every year.

Everyone of them, wants their day to be perfect, and spend much time and money getting things just right, the perfect dress, lovely shoes, beautiful accessories and the one area I think they should pay particular attention to is their bridal makeup.

You will most probably be meeting the most close friends and be photographed the most times on this one particular day than you will be for the rest of your life – so looking good all day long should be your top priority – getting your bridal makeup done by a professional is the way to go – it’s almost as important as getting the right Wedding DJ (See Enquiry Form below!!).

As I previously stated, I’m not a bridal makeup expert, but when I meet my brides, I can usually tell, which ones have invested in a professional makeup artist and those that have not, there are exceptions, many of which are beauticians themselves, but there is a big difference between your normal makeup and preparing your makeup to last all day long.

There are obviously some brides that insist in doing their own make up, and would not trust their wedding makup to anyone else – no matter how good the other person was – and that is entirely their own choice – and as I always say it is your special day and it should be done done your way, but in the majority of cases hiring a professional makeup artist is a great investment for your special day – you will look great and be confident of looking good all day long.

Wedding DJ Advice – Who Do You Invite?

Having trouble deciding who and who not to invite to your wedding?

When you sit down and think about who to invite to your wedding there are many items to be taken into consideration – one of which, to a greater or lesser extent will be cost. The more people you invite to your wedding the more it will cost you – simples!

So how do you decide on who to invite to your wedding? There is no simple answer and every bide and groom will have different factors to consider but to help you on your way, try running through the following questions to help you decide if your are not sure you should invite a particular person or not. If you need to cut down on numbers on your list to save some money or just to accomodate the maximum number of guests allowed at your chosen venue, run through this simple ‘quiz’.

1. Is either of you related to this person? If YES go to Nr 2, If NO go to Nr 3.

2. Will it create a family drama if you leave him or her off the list? If YES go to Nr 10, If NO go to Nr 9.

3. Do you work/belong to a club / organisation with him or her? If YES go to Nr 4, If NO go to Nr 5.

4. Do you regularly spend time together outside of your work / club/ organisation? If YES go to Nr 6, If NO go to Nr 7.

5. Have you seen or spoken to him/her in the pst year? If YES go to Nr 6, If NO go to Nr 9.

6. Have you talked specifically about the wedding with him/her? If YES go to Nr 10, If NO go to Nr 8.

7. Were you invited to his/her wedding? If YES go to Nr 8, If NO go to Nr 9.

8. Would his or her presence make your wedding more fun? If YES go to Nr 10, If NO go to Nr 9.

9. Do not invite!

I hope this gives a bit of guidance when trying to decide who to invite to you your wedding – unfortunately there is no magic formula that will help you decide which ‘fringe’ family and friends to invite but running through the above questions will give you some good guidance.

The Crown is well worth investigating for your party or function. It provides a great first floor function room with it’s own balcony and bar – having the bar in the same room as the entertainment is always a winner where I am concerned! The function room has it’s own private entrance from the large car park. Access to the room is via a half landing staircase – oh the poor DJ’s legs! You may laugh but the toilets are on the ground floor so you will get the use the stairs as well! Add to this mix the helpful bar staff and this could be your ideal venue.

Wedding Dates During The World Cup 2014

If you are planning your wedding dates during the World Cup 2014 here are the important dates you need to know.

The World Cup will be running from 12th June 2014 – 13th July 2014.

If you are planning to have your wedding next year wedding dates during world cup football image please bear these dates in mind – you and your guests may love or hate football but whatever your feelings please take on board that this may effect your wedding celebrations in some way or another.

I bring this up as I know from experience that such events can cause problems.

Back in the 2010 tournament, I wad Djing at a wedding where the bride expressly did not want the football to interupt her special day but one inconsiderate guess ‘smuggled’ in an Ipad to watch a particular game, which was a big distraction from her special day.

If you do not object, then why not make an allowance for bringing in or using the big screen at your venue – it can be a big distraction but there will be many who will love you more for doing so!

If you’re really into your football, why not plan on taking in a match on your honeymoon – Brazil is a lovely destination – more details here:- http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/index.html

If you’re going to embrace the football, find out the match times nearer the date, and organise your special events around these times, if Kick Off is at 8.00 pm, maybe have your First Dance at 7.30 pm – that way you will not be disappointed that guests miss any ‘events’ you have organised.

The alternative view could be that if you do not care about football, why make any planns to accomodate it? If people would rather miss your wedding than miss a match – then do they really deserve an invite to your wedding? Make sure the main bar TV is turned off to avoid any temptation.

However with a abundance of Smart Phones, I think it will be very unlikely that you will be able to ban it – so why not embrace it?

Then off course there is the FA Cup Final to consider on 10th May this year, the Grand National, Wimbledon, The Ashes, ……

Picking a date for your wedding can be fraught with hidden dangers.
