      Chilston Park Hotel is a magnificent 4 Star luxury country house hotel, located near Lenham, just outside of Maidstone, Kent (ME17 2BE post code for your Sat Navs!).

      Chilston Park Hotel, as the name implies, is set in over 20 acres of private grounds in the Kent country side, giving ample opprtunity for great photos with the elegent looking Grade 1 Listed property as the background. Plenty of room for helicopters or hot air balloons to land if you want to arrive in real style!

      There are several packages available including Exclusive Use, Manor House package and the Coach House Suite and Courtyard package. The venue can host upto 3 wedding receptions on any particular day.

      From the Wedding Reception and Wedding DJ point of view, there are three main areas that can be used for your wedding celebration – The Culpeppers Restaurant/Reading Room Area, The Orangery and the Hussey Hall.

      Each have their own charms with the Culpeppers Restaurant/Reading Room Area is part of the main building and truely reflects the feel/expectation of the venue, The Orangery is a smaller conservatory extension type building, and the Hussey Hall is a relatively modern room conversion of the original coach house.

      The hotel has over 50 rooms to accomodate your guests with extra special rooms available for your wedding night. The service and staff are first class. The food is very good – they make little lemon tarts/pastries (I’m sure they have a posh name but I do not know it!) that I could eat all day long mmmmmmm.

      Amy Winehouse Dies Aged 27 – 23.07.11

      Amy Winehouse – a great singer who is unlikely to be forgotten for her music for a long time died aged 27 on 23rd July 2011.

      I found out the news on the day when a guest at a wedding reception I was performing at came onto the stage and told me just after I started to play my favourite song of ‘hers’, Valerie, the cover of the Zutons’ song produced with Mark Ronson – I didn’t really believe it.

      Her breakthrough album Back To Black was released in 2006 and made her a huge star across the world, winning 5 Grammy Awards including best song and record of the year for Rehab.

      She was a reluctant stylish star with black beehive and thickly lined ‘Cat Eyes’ that was not afraid to speak frankly.

      Valerie must be one of the most played tracks by all DJs – not only a great track in it’s own right but with it’s 60’s feel a great transition track from going from soul/mowtown into current chart music and the other way around.
