Keith’s 30th Birthday Mobile Disco Party In Beckenham

Mobile Disco Beckenham services provided by JMF Disco were chosen by Keith to perform at his 30th Birthday celebrations, held at Kent County Cricket Ground, Beckenham.

The Kent County Cricket Ground at Beckenham offers some great facilities to host your birthday party or wedding celebrations in Beckenham. The main room has it’s own permanent built in dance floor and, maybe more importantly, a well stocked bar in the same room. On the face of it this may seem a minor item but having the bar in the same room as the entertainment can only help your event by encouraging guests to dance – often venues have their bars in an adjoining room, which can often encourage your guests to stay in there – great for the venues bar takings – but not ideal for your party atmosphere.

Mobile Disco Coniston Hotel Sittingbourne

Dave’s 40th Birthday

Mobile Disco Sittingbourne services provided by JMF Disco performed at Dave’s 40th Birthday celebrations, held at the Coniston Hotel, Sittingbourne.

The Coniston Hotel was recently reopened just before Christmas 2012, after an extensive and prolonged refurb. The party was held in the main ballroom, were guests enjoyed a three course meal, before partying the night away till 1.00 am.

Dave and his guests party’d the night away to current and recent chart hits and his own favourite dance and trance tunes from the late 90’s. Numbers dwindled towards midnight but the party animals carried on till the 1.00 am finish with a Madness and ska set causing a bit of a frenzy!

Mobile Disco Maidstone | Filmer Hall | Sam’s Birthday

Mobile Disco Maidstone services provided by JMF Disco were privileged to be chosen by Sam, to provide the Mobile DJ and Mobile Disco services for her fantastic birthday celebration held at the Filmer Hall, East Sutton near Maidstone.

Filmer Hall at East Sutton just outisde of Maidstone is a typical village hall, about the size of a badmington court, with it’s own seperate kitchen room and one end and entrance lobby room at the other. There is  very limited space for parking of cars at the hall but as it is located in a quite country lane this should not be a problem.

Sam jammed the venue with loads of friends and family who were all up for a party, dancing the night away to all the current chart hits and her dubstep favourites. There were plenty of guest requests on the night, I sprinkled in a few cheesy classics to mix it up and a great night night was had by all. My top tip from the night is – look after your mobile phone – make sure you hold on to it or put it somewhere it is not going to fall out when you are dancing!

Below are a few photos that I took on the night whilst DJing – to be honest the place was so heaving I could only get a few shots from behind the DJ stand but you’ll get the idea. They turned a cold snowy night in January into a really hot party!

I am a self confessed wedding checklist-aholic – if there is such a term!

One of the best investments you can make for your wedding is a small notebook – as small as possible to carry around with you where ever you go.

wedding-checklistIf you think of an idea, see something you might use for your wedding, a song you would like played at your wedding reception – anything that comes to mind write it down in your note book – those shoes, that tie, those shoes, that gift for the bridesmaid – wite it in your notebook. It will save you all the worry about forgetting things, and anything you do forget – where will it be………in your notebook – it will be the best 50p you spend on your wedding!

When you start out planning your wedding having a wedding checklist to act as a guide is very useful. There are loads of wedding checklists available on-line but none will be the perfect match for your wedding.

What I suggest is having a look at a few and form your own wedding checklist picking out the best and most relevant items and adding in your own.

On the face of it, how much does a wedding dj cost appears to be a simple question, but to answer the question quite a bit of additional information is required to answer it correctly!

A simple answer to how much does a wedding dj charge would be from a few hundred pounds to over a thousand pounds as the experience and service offered varies – however this simple answer does not provide much help with your wedding dj budget.

As with many other service provider there will be a number of factors that need to be taken into consideration by your wedding dj before he or she is able to give you a wedding dj cost estimate. These factors could include:-

  • Venue – location – travel distance – access – parking
  • Wedding DJ performance time – longer hours = greater cost
  • Wedding DJ set up times – just before performance or in morning
  • Time of year – July busy – Christmas busy – February less busy
  • Day of week – Saturday busy – Tuesday less busy
  • Special occassions – New Years Eve busy – Pancake Day less busy!
  • Type and size of room – huge marquees will require better/more equipment than a small hotel function room
  • Type of show required – a huge ‘roadshow’ for a full on nightclub experience will be more expensive than a smaller more discreet set up
  • Supply and demand factors – a reputable experienced wedding dj can command higher fees than a younger DJ just starting his DJ career

However each Wedding DJ may or may not take into consideration these items, or may take in others that effect them personally. For example:-

  • Some part time Wedding DJs find it very difficult to take time off their usual scaffolding job to perform at your wedding mid-week – they may have to take a days annual holiday, which they will take into consideration when formualting a quote.
  • Sometimes the increased distance a Wedding DJ has to travel has it’s advantages. – the commuting Wedding DJ! In my own circumstances I live in North Kent which is ideally suited to travel all around the soth-east corner of the UK – and even though I live 30 miles from London – I can often provide a more competetive quote for weddings in London than Wedding DJs that live in ‘the smoke’!
  • Booking early can secure you a better deal – and the actual date you want! The better Wedding DJs are businesses and as such are keen to fill their diaries – better DJs know that they will be booked during the ‘wedding season’ and at very busy times of the year – but they are also aware as businesses they also have to fill the other dates in their diaries – someone has to pay all the bills! – by booking early a Wedding DJ may well sharpen their pencil a bit in order to secure a booking sooner rather than later.

Ultimately to find the answer to your question get a few quotes from a shortlist of Wedding DJs – generally they will be in the order of £250.00 – £500.00 for an evenings entertainment but price should not be the only factor you consider – compare the quotes you get to see what is being offered, phone what the appear to be the most suitable to see if you ‘click’ and book your choice as soon as you can!
